Doula Support

Doula support for pregnancy, birth and the early postnatal days

Compassionate, continuous support to help you feel informed, calm and cared for as you prepare for birth and welcome your baby.

Steady Support

Steady support when it matters most

Birth can feel exciting, uncertain, overwhelming — sometimes all of these at once. Whatever your hopes for this time, a doula offers steady emotional and practical support, woven around you and your family.

My role is to walk alongside you, not to make decisions for you. Everything I offer is centred on what matters most: your confidence, your choices and your feeling supported in the way that is right for you.

The Role

What does a doula do?

A doula provides emotional, practical and informational support before, during and after birth. I don’t replace your midwife, doctor or birth partner — I work alongside them, and I’m there for you in a different way.

That support can look like birth preparation, comfort measures during labour, gentle reassurance in the room, or settling-in help in the postnatal days. It’s always shaped around the family in front of me — never a fixed template.

From the quiet weeks of preparation to the hours and days after your baby arrives — here is what working together can look like.

Before birth

  • Getting to know you and your preferences
  • Talking through hopes and concerns
  • Exploring birth options and comfort techniques
  • Helping you feel prepared and informed

During birth

  • Calm, continuous emotional support
  • Practical comfort measures
  • Reassurance for you and your partner
  • Support with communication and decision-making

After birth

  • Time to reflect on your birth experience
  • Early feeding and settling support
  • Gentle reassurance as you begin postnatal life

Postnatal Support

Postnatal doula support

The early days at home with a new baby can be tender, joyful and disorientating in equal measure. Postnatal doula support is about helping you recover, rest and find your own rhythm — gently, and at your pace.

I come into your home as a calm, familiar presence. I bring no agenda beyond yours: practical help where it’s wanted, quiet company where it’s needed, and the kind of reassurance that comes from someone who’s done this many times before.

A postnatal visit might include

  • Talking through how you are feeling
  • Helping with feeding questions
  • Supporting baby care and settling
  • Giving parents time to rest
  • Offering calm reassurance when advice feels conflicting

For Partners

Support for your partner too

Your partner remains central to your birth and early parenting story — nothing I offer is meant to replace what they bring. My role is to help them feel more confident, more grounded, and a little less alone in it all.

During labour I can suggest practical ways to support you, take a turn so your partner can rest or eat, and quietly hold the space so they can be fully present with you. In the postnatal days I’m there for both of you.
